I have lived in Cornwall for 31 years with my family and work from my studio which is at the top of a tower adjoining our house near the Helford River. I am lucky to live and work in a county thriving in artists and craftsmen whose work is a constant source of inspiration as well as the river which I am so close to. The highly individual craft
of batik has fascinated me for many years and the majority of my work
is in this medium, although I also enjoy mosaic work, printmaking and
life drawing. I strive to capture the sea
life in my work and reflect the wild nature of our coastline. Over the last five years I
have devoted more time to mosaic work and developed a style incorporating
a variety of materials including stones, shells, beads as well as traditional
tesserae and smalti. Different textures are created by using these different
materials and each piece is original and unique. I run day workshops in
shell mosaics for small groups, suitable for beginners and those who want
to try something new.
